Support for young families
The FamilyZone Ingle Farm Hub is central to the Salisbury Communities for Children initiative. It is a meeting place for
families staffed by professionals from a number of agencies and supported by volunteers. Other organizations also offer
services which meet identified community needs. These include TAFE English language classes for families newly arrived
in Australia and support groups for African and Afghani women facilitated by Lutheran Community Care. ‘Friends of Child
and Youth Health’ baby groups meet on Monday & Tuesday mornings. A home visiting service operates from the hub and a
crèche is available to families involved in the various activities. Internet access and a range of family resources are
also on offer at the hub.
FamilyZone is for families who live in the local community with children under five years. We are pleased to hear from
any parent or parent group in this area who have ideas about the kind of services they would like to see at the Hub.
