Parents can request topics of interest from anything from increasing your child's self esteem to dealing with children's challenging behaviors, come along and meet other parents, crèche available. Every Monday between 9.30 - 12.00pm

Young Mum's

  • Young Mum's Group runs weekly at FamilyZone Hub Tuesdays 12:30 - 2:30pm with lunch provided. Group is educational but also aims at decreasing social isolation and building friendships with other young mums
  • Referral to other programs as required
  • Any other assistance which may be required to provide holistic care for mother and baby

Time for African women to meet to discuss issues relevant to newly arrived families. Creche provided, includes cooking and guest speakers.

Home Visiting

The Home visiting Service offers a service to families with children aged 0-5 who may have issues such as social isolation, maternal depression, parenting issues, mental health issues or who require general support. The Home Visiting Program also targets families who are not catered for by the Child and Youth Health extended visiting program.

Volunteering

There are many opportunities for community members to become involved, all volunteers are police checked. Training opportunities for volunteering in the home visiting program is offered twice a year. Volunteers are a precious resource, please contact Site Manager Coordinator Karen Stott for further information on 8349 6099
