Currently we are regularly engaging with some 750 families through hub activiites at FamilZone Ingle Farm, the Salvation Army Ingle Farm First Steps initiative and FamilyZone Para Hills. Aditionally we are supporting several hundred other families through input into the development of community groups and leadership. The varied activities facilitated at the hubs are being developed in response to engagement with the local community through the planning processes in place and regular input from parents. Plans are now also in place to further engage with the 6-12 age group particularly through supporting marginalised children in primary schools and parenting initiatives.
The attendance of some 189 families at the FamilyZone end of year celebration and a similar number at a recent Salvation Army Family fun day is also indicative of a high level of community engagement.
Activities have engaged with many diverse community groups and agencies to co-facilitate group sessions etc. Agencies who offer services on the site include Child & Family Health Services, Lutheran Refugee and Mobile Creche Services, Modbury Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital, TAFESA, Family Day Care, The North East Division of General Practice, Parenting Network, Housing SA and Salisbury Primary Health Care Services also participating. Some of these groups are investing resources at FamilyZone in the light of the outcomes for the families referred.
We are continuing to have discussions with key stakeholder representatives such as DECS and C&FHS with the view of establishing longer term sustainable partnerships. FamilyZone Para Hills is now independantly sustained.
